A Message from our current president

Welcome to the Opticians Association of Rhode Island’s website! Whether you are interested in becoming a Licensed Optician in RI, or considering joining our State Association, it is our collective hope that you find our site not only easy to use but a necessary vehicle to explore Opticianry in RI and become engaged with your peers and fellow Optical Professionals in our State!

As this is my 20th year in the Optical Industry, I am ever more optimistic about the state of our Profession in RI! With much of your support, we were finally able to add an Apprenticeship route towards Licensure into Law during the 2024 State House General Sessions. As we get closer to a dedicated Apprenticeship pathway, now is the time to talk to colleagues, industry representatives and other Optical Professionals in RI about the Opticians Association of RI and the benefits of becoming a member of OARI!
