As a Licensed Profession, Opticians need to be aware of any legislation that can potentially affect their vocation.

Both OARI and the Opticians Association of America work with RI to strengthen our profession and provide strong representation to advocate and protect your state license.

Apprenticeship qualifications established into law!

It took almost 3 years, lots of lobbying and networking with our peers in both Opticianry and Optometry across the State, but WE DID IT! Apprenticeship Pathway towards Qualification for Licensure in RI was officially passed during the 2024 General Assembly Session!
